Summary

If you are considering upgrading your Kimi plan to get access to KimiClaw, this video will save you money. The creator paid $39 per month to test KimiClaw — essentially OpenClaw running on Kimi's servers — and found it is not worth the cost. Here is why. First, KimiClaw is just a basic, single-button deployment of OpenClaw with almost no added value. Despite being part of the Algretto plan that already includes Kimi features like Nano Banana (unlimited slide generation), KimiClaw does not integrate any of those features. You cannot use Nano Banana through the agent — you have to go back to Kimi's side interface manually. Second, the servers are based in mainland China. If you are working internationally, this is a real problem because many services are blocked there, meaning your agent may not be able to reach tools and APIs you rely on. Third, memory is not configured well. There are no vector embeddings set up by default, which significantly limits the agent's ability to recall long conversations or past context. You would have to configure this yourself anyway. Fourth, KimiClaw is running on OpenClaw version 2.13, which is already several versions behind the current release. The one genuinely useful feature is the ability to link your existing OpenClaw instance to Kimi, giving you access to Kimi's powerful model and generous free usage alongside your own OpenClaw setup. But that benefit does not justify the $39 plan on its own. The creator's recommendation is clear: skip KimiClaw, spend 30 minutes installing OpenClaw yourself, and use the $2 hosting option covered in a separate video. You will get more control, more features, and far better value.
